Take Me Out: 22 things you didn’t know about the hit show

An unscreened pilot episode was made for Channel 4 in , but it was ITV who picked it up for a series. The show was produced by Thames formerly Talkback Thames. The first series was recorded at Granada Studios in Manchester , but has since been recorded at The Maidstone Studios in Maidstone , Kent , as it offered increased space and capacity for audience members.

It did not air in , but returned in with Wright joined by new co-host Laura Jackson. On 10 February , ITV announced that the show was axed after eleven series.

Hit ITV dating show Take Me Out has announced it will air a special episode where all contestants are over the age of Normally the show’s.

In the show, a male contestant has to try and impress 30 women, who switch their lights off if they lose interest. At the end he is able to pick from the women whose lights are still on, with both going on a date to Tenerife. In December contestant Jade Devaney opened up about what it’s like to feature on the programme. Jade explained that contestants are taken to two different hotels during their time on the show once that are in Tenerife – checking in to one hotel only to check into another following date day.

ITV has come under scrutiny in recent months following the suicides of a string of participants on reality shows including Love Island and the now axed The Jeremy Kyle Show. By Dave Burke.
